Pat Sonier

Interviewed by Hannah L

So far out of all the people I have met Pat Sonier has been the nicest of them all. Yesterday she talked to us almost the whole bus tour to Eielson in Denali National Park; she had some amazing things to say. When we got off the bus she wanted a picture and our business cards to remember all of our names.
Pat Sonier is from New Brunswick, Canada. Pat and her husband drove 4700 miles to get to Alaska! They have been here two days already and have really enjoyed it; they hope to stay 29 days! So far they have done a bus tour to Poly Chrome lookout. They plan on traveling all around Alaska.
Pat has come to Alaska because it is her husbands dream. Pat’s favorite part of Alaska so far is the mountains. When I asked Pat to explain the beauty of the mountains she said,“ Beautiful doesn’t even describe it, if you were to explain how beautiful you just wouldn’t be able to describe it!” I then saw she had an Arizona hat on so I asked her if she had been to the Grand Canyon Pat replied,“ I’ve been to the Grand Canyon and you can’t compare the mountains here to them. They are both amazing!”
I then asked her what she did not like about Alaska and she could not find anything yet! When she said that I asked her what she would have liked to have seen more of during the bus tour Pat said,“ Dal Sheep are what I would like to see more of today. Oh! And Mnt. McKinely.”
Pat Sonier was deffinitly my favorite person out of everyone else I’ve met here in Alaska. I told her I hoped she had fun in Alaska to enjoy the mountains. Pat Sonier has left a mark on me and the other participants in AGLP.
